Subvert the Dominant Paradigm

This is our Mission Statement. Let’s change the World View. We are here to enable you to make a paradigm shift. We are here to affect change. Be the change!

Let’s face it! The predominantly white patriarchy controls the modern world. Systems of power and renumeration have been set and put into place quietly and surreptitiously since the end of WWII. While convincing us that chemically treated lawns, surrounding cookie cutter homes in pre-planned subdivisions was the American/Canadian Dream, those in power quietly and effectively went to work building systems, laws and ordinances that ensured that those with wealth got to retain the majority for their coffers while marginal populations were conditioned to believe that North America is a classless society. The only reason you’re not obscenely wealthy is you don’t work hard enough!!

Invisible walls, ceilings and barriers have been constructed by the wealthy to ensure that the mass dirty hordes cannot sneak up on them and steal their wealth.

We are those mass, dirty hordes!! And it is our time. NOW. To fuck shit up. Change the narrative. But let’s not use their tactics of fear, suppression and violence. We can be better than that. We ARE better than that!

One of the most powerful weapons that we have is our wallet! Money is power. Stop giving them your power. Stop falling for their seductive, slick and embedded advertisements.

Take a step back and reevaluate. Your goals. Needs. How many times have you went shopping to “feel better”? To boost your mood? You didn’t do it because, deep down, you needed a new handbag. You did it because we have been subtly brainwashed over the years to think that shopping is a hobby. A past time. Seriously!!

Almost every Hollywood rom-com has the main female characters “shopping as therapy” as a plot point. How dumb do they think we are? Dumb and apathetic, apparently. Shopping is not a sport. It doesn’t make you “feel good”. Its a lie. A lie perpetrated to keep us in debt. And we are in debt. Massively. More than any point in history. Currently 46% of Canadians are $200 or less away from insolvency. (CBC.ca January 21/2019)

We fell down a slippery slope of instant gratification provided by credit cards. Stress levels are soaring. We are all worried about where next mont’s rent/mortgage are coming from. But yet we still feel obliged to maintain the newest/brightest/must have purchase. Don’t even get me started on housing insecurity….that’s another topic for another time…..

I’ve done the work. Let me walk you through the process of unraveling from the threadwork of mass consumerism. Become a cautious consumer. Be wary and skeptical of ads. They are bright, shiny and mesmerizing….to convince you to buy what they’re selling. To part with your money. Give it away for a momentary endorphin rush.

Who is selling what? And why? Learn to spot companies you should frequent. And those that you shouldn’t. Effect a shift in the tides of consumption. A quiet revolutions against spending as a diversion.
